El Portal Migrante is a job board that seeks to empower migrant guestworkers in their search for good jobs. The site combines up-to-date postings for H-2A and H-2B visa jobs, sourced from publicly available data, with employer profiles and ratings from Contratados.org and workers’ rights information.
Building on the vision of Contratados.org, El Portal Migrante seeks to connect guestworkers with up-to-date job, employer and workers’ rights information. Whereas Contratados.org seeks to build recruitment transparency and create a mechanism for employer and recruiter accountability by allowing workers to share their experiences and review those actors, El Portal Migrante connects this transparency to live job opportunities posted daily by the US Department of Labor.
RAD worked with longtime partner CDM and design partner And Also Too to develop the first ever national job board that translates job postings, connects jobs to worker reviews of employers on Contratados.org. The bilingual, mobile-first site was co-designed with the leadership and guidance of workers and launched in spring 2021.
