About Us

RAD is a worker-owned team of radical creatives who help build the power, leadership and capacity of grassroots social movements in the struggle for justice and liberation.

RAD partners with small and large groups across the globe to co-design tools, develop technology, and conduct essential research grounded in the needs and leadership of communities. We collaborate across a broad range of intersecting issues including:

  • health justice
  • low-wage worker rights
  • immigrant rights
  • racial justice
  • spatial and housing justice
  • environmental justice
  • LGBTQ rights
  • the struggle against criminalization and mass incarceration

We are a heart-centered coop of life-long learners that came together in 2013 to use our expertise to facilitate community-led change. We come from the fields of public health, public policy, social work, cultural geography, cartography, data analysis, media, and software development. Together, we have decades of experience working across a range of social and economic issues to support social movements with an explicit intersectional analysis.

Our work is people-centered, accessible, curious, actionable, collaborative, and rad.

PEOPLE-CENTERED

We build conscious relationships with our collaborators that result in powerful, culturally-responsive solutions for directly impacted communities.

ACCESSIBLE

We create tools and research that meet people where they’re at and make difficult concepts easy to understand. We’re also just an email or phone call away if you need us!

CURIOUS

We lean into curiosity and embrace learning new tools, frameworks and processes that improve and inspire our work.

ACTIONABLE

We develop research, tools and strategies that advance your movement goals.

COLLABORATIVE

We co-design research, processes, and tools that are grounded in the vision and the needs of communities.

RAD

We believe in the radical idea that none of us are free until we are all free. Plus we’re just really rad!
