Public Interest Technology Research ProjectWith NetGain
Research Action Design (RAD) and the Open Technology Institute (OTI) are conducting a community-led field scan of technology for social good that centers diverse practitioners and identifies challenges and opportunities. This is a participatory research project; methods and analysis of findings will be guided by a diverse group of practitioners.
This project is funded by NetGain, a philanthropic partnership committed to “influencing policy, markets, norms, and the design and use of the Internet and information technologies to make the world a better place.” In 2016-2017, among other activities, NetGain seeks to develop a field scan that can provide a community-based perspective about how to grow the field of public interest technology. This research will help NetGain make informed choices about how to best support growth and inclusion in the area of technology for social good.
